Picking up my own slack

So I didn't work on the dress, at all, I set up my space and pretended to myself that finally on Sunday I was going to spend the whole day until it was time to leave out to go to a surprise birthday party, working on it. I feel the disappointment as I type this, but I also know me, and when I'm not really in the clothes making mood, its pretty difficult to get started. I guess I should change the Will Work For Clothes label to Will work a bullshit ass retail job to buy temporary gratification to cover up my loser ways, just to be more descriptive.

Felt like a kid again when I saw this, bought it and thought about a career in industrial design for a split second. I mean packaging is so important, and I know its a big part of the reason I couldn't go home without this.

So this is what I wore to the surprise birthday party. I made my mom and little brother take the pics as I waited for my ride, they were afraid of and intrigued by the "big camera."
I'm wondering what happened to all that hustle and drive, I have to get my shit back together, In the meantime I'm off to the bullshit job, and I'm bout to buy some more unnecessary shit that I've been wanting all weekend on the way there 2:21p.m.

Wayside, falling behind (the scenes)

I've been so wrapped up in looking/applying for new jobs this week (and I'm not going to lie - buying things and counting and recounting just how much I can (but really can't) spend on a few items that I absolutely have to have) that when I saw these pictures earlier today I felt upset and replenished at the same time.
I have today through Sunday off and so far today I've done nothing. The plan was to completely finish (or at least get to the fashion fabric) on the "birthday dress" and possibly squeeze in either work on the magazine's website or photography, like finish editing and print the photos from the shoot below. It's not to late though, first post of August will fill you guys in on what I did or didn't accomplish. Feliz fin de semana/Felice fine settimana/Happy weekend-everyone!
P.S. There just may be a Sexless column coming on how I learned what feliz fin de semana means.... or I could just be saying that to scare someone whom I recently found out reads the blog ha ha ha. 6:40p.m.

These are my friend/assistant/cousin of the model's photos that I stole from facebook.

Products Part Due: Build Up and Overflow...

So when I first picked this up I though it was long enough to be a dress, forgot how tall I am.

Olivia Harris by Toy Gryson convertible satchel, color blush, style #22000, $230.

$50 Chucks I'm after. I'm not at all a "sneaker head" but I have a thing for black high tops and B&W gymshoes in general. I'm also saving up for some B&W air max's. Yes, I have to save up for them.

Random H&Ms that I passed up during the winter.

Calvin Klein $50, glad I didn't get them because now 9 months later I know I would have probably only worn them once.

Chloe's around $300 at the same discount store, that I just had to put my feet in.

More Chloe's, pumps I didn't like these as much, mostly because I don't to much like white shoes.

More Chloe's the largest size left, that were clearly to small.

$50 Jessica Simpsons, they came in black...

...and in brown.

Bag and boots Michael Kors, both $130 -discount store. Loved the bag, but would have killed for the boots, still wish I could get my hands on a pair.

Dollhouse perforated "peep toe" strappy boots $30. I LOVED these shoes, grabbed an 8 1/2 got home began to walk around in them and the more i did, the sadder I became. My skinny feet issue reared its head yet again, the "peep toe" was more like a peep foot as the shoe and the peep opening was so wide my foot kept sliding forward. And I knew I didn't want to walk around with kung fu grip toes so I sadly took them back the next day, but for the chick who has wide feet, those would be a match mate (or is it made?) in Heaven. Finally thee end. 8:55p.m.

Products Part One: Build Up and Overflow...

...onto this blog. Cell phone shots of things I come across from day to day, want but can't afford.

I typically save the best for last but I couldn't help myself. These Frye Sandals, I just adore at a discount retailer for &130, now $99. I'm waiting for these to go down once more, but Frye is a product I have no problem spending the money on because of the quality. I have yet to own some Frye boots, but I did buy some different Frye sandals two years ago that I still adore.

Thought this was cute, I didn't really feel like I had to have it though, I think it was $40 or $60, by Hobo international.

It was love at first sight, then as I got closer, I realized the only thing I really liked was the color (I've been looking for the perfect mustard colored back since last year) and the metal/woven/knotted diamond detail on the front. $40 Nicole Lee at a discount retailer.

Im super sleepy now and have long day ahead of me so, thats it, but I have so much more stuff to get off my cell phone so these "Products" post will be coming soon and will be either frequent on really long posts. Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival after work, cheering on a college friend, hoping to get interesting photos and I will certainly post some if I do. 1:08a.m.

Birthday Dress Part Due

Remember the Birthday Dress Post? No... well click here. Okay so I have an update on the progress.

Tadahh. Confession time, I was already at this point in the construction when I did the initial post. I know I know. I only planned to do about three posts on the dress, begginning, middle, and end. This isnt quite the middle as you can see there are no sleeves, and its not fitting properly, when I accomplish those thing I will be at the middle. Soo, I haven't worked on it at all since I did the inital post, and I've already given myself the talk, Im going to finish it! Or at least work on it some more some time soon...1:23pm

Wrote this a few days ago... my closet is still a mess

I was looking for a pair of wedges last week and couldn’t find them, still thinking of those shoes I started cleaning out my closet earlier today and couldn’t help but to focus on how much I have. I’m giving away some things because they have run there course and are part of the past and not all things need to be held on to. There’s always more to want and a lot to aspire to but I’m taking a second to express how truly grateful I am for what I have tangible or not. 11:32a.m.
P.S. still can’t find the shoes!
