My original portfolio website got taken down and it only just occurred to me to do a page through this blog dedicated to some stuff I know how to do. This first batch of stuff is all about two years old, I'm working on some new stuff for us though. Please let me know what you think.Fashion Design:
I made all the garments modeled above. These are pictures from my senior show at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
Graphic Design:
Early in the learning to use photoshop stage. Started not to post this pic of Ludacris with Jessica Alba's eyes and mouth, but its a blog about my progression, so here it is.
That's no President third from the left, I kind of want to do this again using President Obama, but then again maybe not, that would probably be pretty cliche`. Oh that would be my face replacing Theodore Roosevelt, and no, there's no particular reason I chose him.
This was done in Adobe Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator. Yes thats me.
This was done in Adobe InDesign. I really like doing Magazine covers. This gave me the idea to refer to the magazine I'm starting as Icon, since I'm a bit reluctant to put the real name of it out here in the open.

Photography:
Old test strip, can't find the original large photo, but I remember liking it. This picture and the following photos were taken by me, Jakina Ado to you, with a manual camera. A Pentax K1000 and were developed by me in a darkroom. I of course shoot digital now but I just felt the need to point that out.
Well, thats the end for now. I will be posting recent work, but now that I've made this portfolio page, I'm thinking maybe I should have made a page for each subject/topic/what do I call the difference between these skills?
Should I just add Digital Photography, Accessories, and maybe Clips, which includes the latest photography, clutches (handbags/purses) and articles/stories/reviews to this page, or should I start all over and make a page for each separate thing? If I make the separate pages I could include one for my Writing work, articles or clips as I guess journalists work is still being called.
The separate pages will start a navigation bar on the homepage of this blog and be titled Portfolio: Fashion Design, Portfolio: Digital Photography, etc. and will be easier for people wanting to "hire" me to go right to what skill they want to hire me for. Then again, this one single page is like an all-in-one mini run down of visual stimulation. I'll figure it out sooner than later but in the meantime any suggestions? June 22, 2010 Tuesday 2:28a.m.
we need to link up!

You know I'm going to say add those clips baby. Journalism is apart of your life too. I'm thinking maybe you should keep them all together so people have no choice but to look at all your talent rather than just going to one. Great job over all, we definitely see the progression. I suggest adding locations and dates. Peace
ReplyDeleteLove the texture of the homeless man pics...
